Family without boarders…

Wow….it’s been a while I’ve been here, missed me? 🥰🥰 From volunteering, to participating in NHS appreciation to finishing up some course work, I have literally been everywhere else😂. I know what you thinking, this common good attribute is my life and am proud of that🤓. That is clearly how great leaders are born and am not so far from that, see what I mean haha. The fun part is am not the only one living up to these attributes. As you will remember from PDP 2.0, a lot of my colleagues are doing amazing and selfless things in their own way even beyond my expectation to be honest, I guess GCU just has a way of building us to exceed our abilities haha. You will expect perfect strangers who had no prior contact before uni to not really care about what goes on with each other outside the classroom especially with the current global pandemic but that is completely the opposite. I have lost count on how many times I needed help with my course work and in a heartbeat, I had more help than I needed haha. Picture this: “Trying so hard to understand a concept and not quiet getting your head around it, yh….we have all been there right” i just picking up my phone to text or call no matter the time and almost immediately i get an overwhelming response and even a follow up call to make sure im sorted haha, that is the kind of family I belong to at Uni. The whole talk about global citizenship as I posted weeks ago started with us in a very diverse class but even outside the walls of GCU, the impact lives on amongst us. You will be supprised to know it doesn’t just start and end with students, but staff as well. Seeing and hearing “right, hope you understand now. How you getting along with everything, any issues, we will get through” from Dr Yvonne in her emails and drop in class really gives you a sense of belonging to a global network of people who care for you. And don’t get me started with Frances and how many times “Marino, everything okay” has been played back in my head on repeat making me smile😁. It is truly times like this that unite us with a stronger bond and being proud and lucky to have my collegues and tutors support and safe is gonna be an understatement. We will get by just fine….how do I know, because I belong to a GLOBAL NETWORK of RESPONSIBLE individuals with a COMMON love for everything GOOD. See what I did there😎😎 #Spot Frances in the pic # Will tell you in my next post haha…suspense..

My Global Network during our Christmas party organised by….Frances haha😃
